NVG ALPHA — Ruggedized Night Vision Goggle

The NVG ALPHA is a full-featured articulating dual-tube goggle from Opfor Night Solutions. The housing combines hybrid polymer and aluminum — polymer reduces overall weight while aluminum reinforces the critical structural areas, particularly the hinge. All controls run through a single central rotating push button, keeping the interface clean and operable under stress with gloves on.

Manual gain control via the central knob. Gain memory retains your brightness setting across power cycles — your setting is there when you turn it back on.

Individual pod auto-shutoff

Each pod automatically powers off when articulated outward, eliminating helmet glow and protecting tubes from accidental light exposure. Toggleable on/off per user preference.

Auto-shutoff when flipped up

Unit shuts off automatically when flipped past vertical. Also includes a 2-minute idle shutoff — if the unit is left on stationary, it powers down to protect the tubes. Both features toggleable.

IPD stops included

IPD stops are included standard and positioned on the eyepiece side of the bridge — not side-mounted. This placement redirects impact forces into the reinforced aluminum plate rather than creating a fulcrum point at the hinge.

CR123A onboard + Fischer external port

Single CR123A provides ~20 hours runtime. Fischer port accepts an external battery pack for extended operations.

Elbit Green Phosphor XLSH — Same Gen 3 thin-filmed tube as the XLSH, rendered in classic green phosphor. Some operators prefer green for extended wear. 10-year warranty.

Elbit XLSH White Phosphor — Thin-filmed Gen 3 tubes made by Elbit Systems of America. High sensitivity, proven low-light performance, may show minor cosmetic blemishes in the image area. The standard Elbit configuration and a trusted performer across military and law enforcement. 10-year warranty.

Elbit PH White Phosphor — Tighter spot specifications than XLSH. Fewer and smaller blemishes in the image area for a cleaner viewing experience. 10-year warranty.

L3Harris 24UA Unfilmed White Phosphor — Top of the L3Harris unfilmed lineup. Improved contrast, strong SNR, highly regarded by experienced operators. U.S.-made Gen 3. 10-year warranty.

NNVT Autogated White Phosphor (Gen 2+) — NNVT tubes are Gen 2+, not Gen 3. They are non-U.S. manufactured and carry a 2-year warranty. Autogating automatically adjusts tube gain in rapidly changing light — useful near vehicle headlights, muzzle flash, or streetlights. Solid performance at a lower price point than U.S. Gen 3 tubes. If Gen 3 performance and U.S. warranty coverage are priorities, choose Elbit or L3Harris.

What is FOM?

Figure of Merit is calculated by multiplying a tube’s resolution (line pairs per mm) by its signal-to-noise ratio. A higher FOM generally indicates better overall performance, but two tubes with identical FOM can render differently in the field. Every tube ships with its actual measured datasheet.

U.S.-made Gen 3 tubes (Elbit and L3Harris): 10-year warranty — covers the full unit including housing, optics, electronics, and tube. Does not cover accidental damage or misuse.
