The Steiner DBAL-D2 (Model 9001) is the civilian-available Dual Beam Aiming Laser built around a high-output aspherical LED IR illuminator. Where the DBAL-A3 uses a laser-based illuminator, the D2 uses an LED illuminator with a 2°–30° adjustable beam — eye-safe, effective beyond 1000m, and significantly larger in flood coverage at close range. Aircraft aluminum, MIL-SPEC Type III hardcoat anodize. ITAR controlled.

Key Features

High-output LED IR illuminator — 2°–30° adjustable

The D2’s defining feature. High-definition aspherical telescopic lens technology produces a highly collimated beam adjustable from a tight 2° spot for long-range target designation to a wide 30° flood for close-quarters area illumination. Eye-safe. Effective range beyond 1000m. This is a meaningfully different illuminator than the laser-based illuminator on the A3 — wider coverage at close range, longer range in flood mode.

Green visible laser — Class 3R

<5mW green visible laser. Co-aligned with the IR laser — zero visible in daylight and IR is automatically zeroed to the same point of impact.

Eye-safe IR laser pointer — Class 1

<0.7mW IR laser pointer. Eye-safe. Range <2500m with night vision.

Co-aligned visible and IR aiming lasers

Zero one, zero both. Sight in the visible laser during the day — the IR laser is on the same point of impact.

Activation / mode selector switch

Tap and release for momentary activation. Double-tap for 5 minutes continuous. Integrated push button plus included remote cable pressure pad switch.

Aircraft aluminum housing

MIL-SPEC Type III hardcoat anodized 6061-T6 aircraft aluminum. Submersible to 5m.

QD HT Mount included

Patented self-adjusting quick-release Picatinny mount. Attaches to any MIL-SPEC 1913 rail.
