AB Night Vision RNVG-A — Articulating Ruggedized Night Vision Goggle

The RNVG-A (also known as ARNVG) is the articulating version of AB NightVision’s ruggedized binocular. Billet machined from aircraft-grade aluminum at AB NightVision’s facility in Bristol, Virginia — the same construction as the proven RNVG housing, with independent articulating pods that can be repositioned or folded flat against the helmet. During drop testing the housings far exceeded MIL-STD-810H requirements, surviving falls onto bare concrete from heights beyond what lenses and image intensifiers can handle. AB NightVision backs the housing with a lifetime warranty.

Billet aircraft-grade aluminum housing

Same material and construction standard as the RNVG. Media blasted for non-reflective matte finish, black anodized for durability. FDE option uses Cerakote over the anodizing.

Independent articulating pods

Each pod rotates independently. Fold one or both up out of the field of view without removing the goggle from the mount. When stowed, pods fold flat against the helmet — reducing neck strain and protecting both the goggle and the operator from overhead impacts.

Auto pod shutoff

Pods automatically cut power when articulated up — no helmet glow, no accidental tube exposure.

Articulation resistance is adjustable with a coin — set to your preferred resistance in the field.

What is FOM?

Figure of Merit is calculated by multiplying a tube’s resolution (line pairs per mm) by its signal-to-noise ratio. A higher FOM generally indicates better overall performance, but two tubes with identical FOM can render differently in the field. Every tube ships with its actual measured datasheet.
