Understanding Gen 2+ vs. Gen 3

Gen 2+ tubes use a different image intensifier technology than Gen 3. They are capable night vision tools — not toys — but they do not match the low-light performance, resolution, or signal-to-noise ratio of U.S.-made Gen 3 tubes. The performance gap is meaningful in very dark conditions. If you’re operating in near-total darkness or require the highest possible image quality, Gen 3 is the right choice. If you want to learn the platform, train with it, or use it in conditions with reasonable ambient light, Gen 2+ delivers functional NV performance at a significantly lower price.

All tubes on this product are non-U.S. manufactured Gen 2+. Warranty is 2 years on all configurations. This applies to Photonis, NVT, and NNVT tubes equally.
